Guided Visit and Lunch at Stowe House
11:00am – Stowe, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, MK18 5EQ
The Emmanuel Society invites members to a private tour of Stowe House, one of England’s most iconic and architecturally significant buildings and estates. Located in North Buckinghamshire, near the Northamptonshire border, it boasts a rich heritage spanning over three centuries.
We'll gather for refreshments at 11.00am before embarking on a behind-the-scenes look at the State Rooms guided by those who know them best, including Andrew Fane, Chair of the Stowe House Preservation Trust and President of the Emmanuel Society. You'll enjoy a buffet lunch of the South Front Portico, overlooking the Capability Brown landscape gardens. After lunch, you'll visit rooms that aren't on the usual visitor route, including the Gothic Library, the only Gothic interior designed by the distinguished classicist Sir John Soane (1753–1837) and one of the earliest interiors of the Gothic Revival.
The formal tour will finish at around 3.00pm, after which you will have the opportunity to explore the museum and State Rooms further, or the landscape gardens, at your leisure.
Places on this special experience are £47. Guests are welcome to attend with one guest. Places are strictly limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
Book your place. Booking closes on Thursday 9 July or when all places have been filled.
